Engineering
Engineering works closely with creative and manufacturing to produce rugged and attractive displays using a combination of metal, plastic, wood, glass and graphic elements for a visually pleasing result. Using the latest 2D graphic and 3D CAD programs the engineering staff starts with a sketch to create a virtual model around the client’s product and display needs. Appearance, structure and cost are all taken into consideration as the design is developed. Graphic elements are applied to the model to make sure all the elements come together as a whole. A prototype is then built from part drawings made directly from the CAD model. Once assembled the prototype is reviewed by client and staff. Appearance, structure, ergonomics and production costs are considered again to make sure all client needs are met or exceeded while keeping the cost to market as low as possible.
Value Engineering
There seems to be a chasm between high end, custom fabrication and the low cost “melamine box” providers. At one extreme, cost is not thought of, on the other extreme it is the ONLY factor.
